Premium Lime is developed for direct and controlled pH regulation in organic substrates and soil. The pH value of the root environment determines the availability of nutrients, the activity of microorganisms, and the development of the root system. When the pH is out of balance, the uptake capacity of essential elements such as calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphate, and manganese is disrupted. This leads to incomplete growth, reduced absorption, and increased sensitivity to stress.
In contrast to traditional lime fertilizers, which dissolve slowly and often react unevenly, Premium Lime consists of extremely fine, powdery lime particles. This high surface area ensures a faster and more effective pH reaction, without the risk of shocks or overcorrection. The neutralizing effect starts immediately after mixing with the substrate, making the product ideal for pre-fertilization during propagation, young plants, or new cycles in reused soil.
The fine lime particles distribute evenly throughout the medium and provide a controlled buffering effect during the entire cultivation. As a result, the pH remains more stable, even when acid-forming processes occur during cultivation — such as microbial activity, organic decomposition, or high nutrient load. Premium Lime prevents acidity from dropping to levels where root burn, slowed absorption, or microbial disruption can occur.
In addition to pH correction, Premium Lime also offers structural benefits. The powdery structure and porous nature of the product improve air and water management in the substrate. This keeps the medium looser, better rootable, and better draining. This is especially important for potting soils or organic mixes that can quickly compact or sink under moisture pressure.
The product is applied by thoroughly mixing it with the substrate before planting, at a dosage of 2 to 5 grams per liter of soil, depending on the acidity of the starting material. This method ensures an even distribution and prevents local oversaturation or “hot spots.” Because Premium Lime does not dissolve in water, it is unsuitable for application via irrigation or foliar spraying — it must always be physically worked through the growing medium.
Premium Lime works throughout the entire cultivation and does not require repeated application, as long as it is evenly distributed at the start. The effect remains active as long as the product is physically present in the root environment, making it extremely suitable for long-term or multi-year crops. In combination with other products from the Basic Organic line, such as Organic Upgrader, a soil environment is created that is balanced both chemically and biologically.
Because Premium Lime contains no ballast substances, chloride compounds, or artificial binders, it does not disrupt the biological activity of the substrate. It is safe for young plants, sensitive roots, and is compatible with both organic and mineral fertilization. Due to the low salt load, it is also often used for start-up problems in reused substrates or in acidic soils with a disrupted mineral balance.
