Description
Profs – Enzyme has been developed to accelerate natural decomposition processes in the substrate. During cultivation, parts of the root system are continuously dying off. This dead plant material accumulates between active roots and over time creates a barrier to growth, oxygen intake, and microbial balance. When old roots are not broken down in time, stagnation occurs in the root zone, which undermines cultivation efficiency.
The product contains biologically active enzymes that break down dead organic material in the substrate into smaller, harmless compounds. These substances are then flushed away or incorporated into the biological cycle of the substrate. This continuous breakdown creates space in the root zone for new root formation and oxygen transport — without the need for aggressive cleaning or chemical flushing.
Enzyme is designed for use through regular irrigation systems. The recommended dosage is 50 milliliters per 100 liters of nutrient solution. By applying this amount consistently, enzymatic activity remains active throughout the entire cultivation period. This prevents organic residues from accumulating and ensures a constantly clean and breathable substrate.
The use of Enzyme not only promotes the breakdown of material but also contributes to microbial balance in the root environment. Because old root debris disappears more quickly, beneficial microorganisms gain ground and dominate over pathogens that feed on decaying material. This leads to a healthier root climate and strengthens crop resilience.
The action of Enzyme is mild and safe. The product does not affect pH or EC and contains no synthetic chelates, carriers, or residues. It is therefore fully compatible with other products from the Basic Liquid line, as well as with mineral nutrition, biological additives, or root stimulators. The product leaves no residue in pipes or drippers, making it suitable for use in recirculating systems and substrate-based cultivation.
Unlike products applied only after cultivation to clean substrates, Enzyme works during the cultivation itself. As a result, it prevents problems instead of correcting them afterward. This makes it valuable for growers working with substrate reuse or facing high root pressure and rapid root aging. Enzyme also provides a clear advantage in drain-free systems or closed loops without flushing moments.
Application of Enzyme leads to a more active root environment over time. New roots can expand more easily, substrate structure remains looser, and water uptake becomes more uniform. Because dead organic material is absent, oxygen availability stays in balance, and fewer anaerobic zones or root rot risks occur.
The strength of Enzyme lies in its preventive character: instead of waiting for symptoms like clogging, discoloration, or decay, the product ensures structural management of the root environment. Growers who apply the product from the first week report more stable cultivation, more even nutrient uptake, and less crop loss due to root issues.
Enzyme is part of Profs’ Basic Liquid line: a range focused on functional, easy-to-use liquid formulations for daily use in any cultivation system. Within this line, Enzyme plays a technical role focused on hygiene, stability, and substrate optimization. It is broadly applicable to all crops and is safe to use even in sensitive crops or with young plants.
Application is simple and requires no extra handling. Enzyme is added to the existing nutrient solution and remains active throughout the irrigation cycle. The product is shelf-stable, retains solution stability, and does not react with other inputs when used within the recommended parameters.
Profs – Enzyme is therefore a technically sound choice for growers who aim for maximum control over the root zone with minimal impact on the plant, substrate, and system. It does not directly promote growth, but it creates the conditions in which root development and uptake can perform optimally — a crucial foundation for any successful cultivation.
